16 intro songs MLB players should definitely walk out to
Walkout songs are one of my favorite parts of Major League Baseball. These options would bring the energy in 2026!
As a kid, I loved professional wrestling specifically for the intro songs (The Undertaker’s “Rest in Peace” still strikes terror into my heart to this day and I wasn’t even the one that had to wrestle the guy). So it’s no wonder that the intro song maintained it’s honored place in my heart as I moved through the levels of professional baseball. Being able to one day choose my own walk out was one of the most vivid parts of my Major League dreams and I am proud to say that that day did eventually come. I’ve even gotten the pleasure of suggesting songs to my teammates over the years (Taylor Roger’s “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac? All me baby.)
With all of that said, I’ve decided to start an annual series where I suggest a handful of tracks for my hitter and reliever brethren to choose from. The following are some tunes I’d like to see SOMEONE choose in the Major Leagues in 2026.
Relievers
Welcome Home - Coheed & Cambria - 0:00
Full disclosure, this was my song for the vast majority of my career and I want someone to keep carrying the torch. Better yet, if it ends up being a Met, they will receive the full backing of Josh Eppard, Coheed & Cambria’s drummer, who just so happens to be a huge fan. The opening rift is prime jogging on material.
Apashe, INSTASAMKA - Uebok VIP - 0:24
The music video literally shows a tank rolling down the road. That’s what we should be thinking when this guy enters the game.
David Guetta, SHOWTEK, Vassy - Bad - 0:09
If you like Edwin Diaz’s “Trumpets,” you’ll like this one.
Peekaboo, Flowdan, Skrillex, G-Rex - Badders - 0:00
This tasty tune would work best in the stadiums with more bass to work with. I’m thinking Philly.
Skrillex, Fred Again, Flowdan - Rumble - 0:00
This was my song for my last year in Oakland in 2023 and it was absolutely electric.
Here’s my intro video if you don’t believe me.
System of a Down - Aerials - 0:17
Why isn’t there more SoaD being used in Major League Baseball? Even if you’re not a metal head, this slow building into gets the blood to a boil, ready to watch a flamethrower go to work.
Hitters
Skrillex - Redline Dash - 0:09
Is just a cool track that lines up will with a short entrance.
MC Fioti, Future, J Balvin, Stefflon Don, Juan Magán - Bum Bum Tam Tam (Jax Jones Remix) - 0:25
Gotta include something for my Latin brothers. Can’t go wrong with J Balvin, even with a remix.
Joey Valence & Brae - OK - 0:07
You’ll notice there’s a few tracks on here from the boom-bap Gen-Z duo Joey Valence & Brae and you’ll soon understand why. If you ever wanted the Beastie Boys to drop some new stuff, you’re in luck…
”I look good…”
What a perfect drop for a hitter to enter the box to.
Apashe, Wasiu - Majesty - 1:12
If you want to give the crowd some energy… you should GIVE THEM ENERGY.
Hudi - Dutch Angle - 0:00
Want more of a confident vibe? Look no further than Hudi for a little “Dutch Angle.”
Fred Again - Victory Lap Five - 4:34
Another just epic drop in for the 5th verse of the 5th version of Fred Again’s “Victory Lap.”
Bassnectar, Lafa Taylor - Speakerbox - 0:48
LET’S F@#!ING HIT!
Could be Both
Joey Valence & Brea - Ready Set
- Start at 0:00 for Reliever
- Start at 0:07 for a hitter
More boom-bap and I’m here for it.
Joey Valence & Brae - Bussit - 0:00
Just listen to it.
Little Simz - Gorilla (Know Good Flip)
- Start at 0:00 for Reliever
- Start at 0:04 for Hitter
Sometime’s you gotta hit them with something they don’t expect

Avatar - tonight we must be Warriors
“Tonight we must be warriors
Tonight we must be warriors
This is our time”
This list is awesome, Trevor! I vaguely recall the Coheed and Cambria. Always worked well for you!
Fast Cars by Aesop Rock is one I’ve always thought would be great for a closer.
It has a badass bouncing beat and the opening lyric is absolutely perfect-
“Checkmate sucka, not a move, game's over!”
(also: Mother by Danzig, though I’m pretty sure that’s already used by at least a couple different relievers)
